What actually works.
Observations from inside commercial teams applying AI: what it changes, what it costs, and where it does not help. Client examples are tagged accordingly.
These are written for people who run marketing, sales and commercial operations rather than for a technical audience, and they are concerned with the specific work those functions carry out - campaign reporting, proposals, tender responses, agency scopes, lead qualification - rather than with artificial intelligence in the abstract. Where a piece relies on research, the source is named at the foot of it. Where it describes a method rather than a measured client result, it says so.
Every post your clinic publishes passes one desk
Dubai health advertising rules route every clinic post through the medical director. For an aesthetic practice that makes approval the constraint, not content production, and it inverts most of the usual advice.
The average Dubai broker closed three transactions last year
Dubai brokers earned AED 13.59 billion in commissions across 96,440 transactions in 2025. Split across 32,294 registered brokers, that is three each. Where the enquiries actually go.
One campaign, forty variants: the arithmetic of a dealer group's year
Automotive marketing in the Gulf is not a creative problem but a multiplication problem: models by variants by channels by languages by cycles. Where the budget is actually consumed.
Nine source markets, one cluster marketing team
Dubai hotels ran at 80.7 per cent occupancy in 2025 across nine source regions, none larger than 21 per cent. What that changes about what marketing is for.
Why training your marketing team beats hiring a data scientist
A ten-year study of S&P 500 firms put a number on it: business people who add AI skills returned 20.5% on assets. Data specialists returned 2.1%. Here's why, and what it means for how you spend your next hire.
What your agency actually bills you for
A retainer is two purchases on one invoice: judgement and production. One of them has become dramatically cheaper to deliver in the last two years and the invoice has not moved. How to do the split yourself, in an afternoon.
Where three days of proposal time actually goes
Sales teams assume proposals are slow because writing is slow. Writing is rarely more than a fifth of the elapsed time. An anatomy of the other four fifths, and which parts of it are genuinely recoverable.
The UAE leads the world in AI adoption. Almost no organisation here has rebuilt anything
70.1% of the working-age population uses AI, against a global average of 17.8%. Around 7% of organisations have rebuilt a workflow around it. What that gap looks like from inside a Dubai commercial team.
